Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at beth@citizensforpropertytaxreform.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Go to axohtax.com and click on your county.  If there are no stations in your county, click on the surrounding counties.

A common question, and an important concern! If property tax goes away, the funding must shift. The most obvious candidate is consumption/sales tax and SDIT (School District Income Tax), which is already being used in 212 cities across Ohio. The Ohio Revised Code (ORC) already allows for much of this. We can no longer carry the burden and the risk of homeowner displacement due to inability to pay property tax. The system MUST change.

We need a minimum of 413,000 (5% of the last Gubernatorial Election). We are calculating 600,000 so that we have enough to amply cover any signatures that may get rejected at the state or county level.

When we reach 600,000 signatures.  The signatures must be submitted 120 days prior to the next general Election.  If successful, t takes effect January 1 of the following year, given a successful outcome. Signatures are valid indefinitely on citizen-led ballot initiatives.

600,000 is larger than it might sound. Specifics on the actual number will not be released any time soon. It is strategically important to keep this confidential until such time as we are in close reach of our goal. We still have a ways to go!

Yes! Just be sure to let the circulator know where you are from. This is a 100% volunteer, citizen grassroots organization. We could use more circulators and signing stations. Please contact us!
